Skills for life on the outside.
For people on parole and community-based orders. Short, practical rehabilitation sessions on their own phones, built around what they have to do: find work, deal with myGov and keep on top of their orders. Staying in work and on track is what keeps people from returning to prison.
What we cover
Phone and myGov basics
Set up myGov and link Centrelink, Medicare and the ATO. Reset passwords, turn on two-step sign-in and keep accounts safe.
Finding work with AI
Talk through your work history and let AI turn it into a first CV. Tailor it to each job, practise interview questions and plan what to say about your record.
Keeping on top of your order
Use employment service apps, calendars and reminders so reporting dates, appointments and job search tasks are not missed.
Money and everyday admin
Make a simple budget, understand bills and letters, and get AI to explain forms in plain English before you sign anything.
Staying safe online
Spot scams, fake job ads, fake voices and fake videos. Learn what you should never share with an AI tool or a stranger online.
Starting small
Get an ABN, write simple quotes and invoices, and use AI to make posts and flyers for a small business or side job.
81,503 people on orders in the community.
That compares with an average of 50,164 in custody in the June quarter 2026. Many must use myGov, employment service apps and online job boards to meet their obligations and find work. See also our training for community corrections offices.
Where
Community corrections offices, employment service providers, TAFE campuses, libraries and Aboriginal community-controlled organisations. Sessions are scheduled around reporting, work and family commitments.
What
Mobile-first, on learners’ own phones. Sessions cover myGov and employment service apps, AI-assisted CVs and applications, spotting scams, and everyday admin such as letters, budgets and appointments.
How it connects
Officers refer people and receive attendance and completion records for case management. For people released after in-prison sessions, it continues the same rehabilitation learning with the same materials.
